"Will (Elliot Finn), a reserve military soldier, enters the barracks late at night with a sports bag. He heads towards an empty bed and falls on his comrade-in-arms who was already arrived and claimed a bunk, his sports bag open and his uniform carefully folded on the edge. They salute each other politely but with an air of rudeness recognizing they are all here for intensive training weekend for soldiers of the reserve military to sharpen their skills when they are not in active duty. They have both had to drive hours to get there and chose to use the barracks as lodging rather than hotels or other places of entertainment because it's more practical. Dean removes his clothes up to his boxer shorts, turns off the light and lies down on his bed. He sees Will come in and salutes him politely but seems a little confused about what has just happened exactly, but shrugs and takes off his own clothes until he is in his underwear. Then he falls asleep. The next morning, Dean walks along a trail where they will do exercises. As he approaches, he sees Will talking to some other soldiers while stretching. He stops and listens. He realizes that Will and the others are boasting one of the other soldiers. Dean slows down his pace to let his eyes stay on Will. He looks at how Will smiles when he laughs and puts on another pair of socks while still talking with the others. He sees how easily the men interact, even though he has had so much fear of creating similar ties in his own life. A wave of surprise hits him. The reserve becomes surprised when Will throws a glance at him and establishes a contact eye. Craving not to have been caught in the act, Dean overcompensates by acting hyper-masculine while he approaches the group. Dean surpasses himself again in his aggressiveness.
