I am the captain of a tight ship. I await much from my scouts. They are not only there to fool around and fool around. Part of my work consists in watching them become well-balanced young men. If I put them to the test and challenge their limits, I know they will eventually become true scouts. Cole and Marcus are two of my most promising boys. They are polite, conscientious and intelligent. We often accuse of being a bit tougher with the most talented boys, and there is some truth in that. But what I teach these young men will prepare them for life, and if they want to be the best, they must work very hard... Discipline is an interesting concept. Many support the idea that it is not necessary unless someone does something wrong, but I believe in preventive discipline. You have to keep boys on their toes and on the right path. One of my pet peeves is vanity. Some of my scouts spend more time grooming than learning survival techniques, and Cole and Marcus are more concerned with their appearance in uniform than what it represents.
